AIFS EPUB publications

A selection of Institute publications are being made available in EPUB 2.0 format. EPUB is an open standard format managed by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF).

The Institute’s EPUBs are free of digital rights management (DRM) restrictions and therefore may be read using any software or hardware that is capable of opening EPUB 2.0 files.

EPUBs can be read using a wide range of software, including:

E-Ink readers

Most dedicated E-Ink readers can also recognise the EPUB format, including:

Note that the Amazon Kindle does not natively recognise the EPUB format, although recent devices can use other software to read EPUBs.

Web-based e-readers

Finally, EPUBs can be read using a few website services, such as MagicScroll.

Note: The e-book industry is changing rapidly, with new software, hardware and standards emerging regularly. AIFS recommends searching the Web for “epub readers” for the most up-to-date information.
